Inside Teaching, founded in August 2013 by The Graduate School at Michigan State University, is a digital and in-person community for graduate students and postdocs dedicated to promoting teaching excellence through conversation and sharing best practices. As an inaugural cohort member, I served in an advisory capacity to the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School to implement sustainable, programmatic support for graduate teaching assistants. In addition to this development, I have designed and facilitated Inside Teaching Lounges around the topics of responding to student writing across the disciplines. I have also worked to provide pedagogical support through accessible digital resources like blog posts for the Inside Teaching website. Through this fellowship I have been able to work directly with graduate student teachers across the disciplines in order to provide pedagogical training and community.
